I am so excited to be participating in the;

WOMEN OF THE WORLD: Trek to End Poverty - Philippines Challenge 2014

Since learning about Good Return I have become completely inspired by the work which they do.  They are fighting poverty by disbursing small loans primarily to women in the Asia Pacific to start or grow their business. ttp://www.goodreturn.org/

As part of my participation in this trek I aim to raise $4000 - enough funds to provide approximately 50 recipients of these loans with the training they need to succeed in business and lift themselves and their family out of poverty.  I am thrilled that I will also meet some of these incredible women whilst on my trek, a humbling experience that will be, I am sure.

On a personal note I am looking forward to stepping way out of my comfort zone and immersing myself into a different culture, an experience which will surely open my eyes to the world way beyond the fortunate life I lead.  And from that I can only grow.  I look forward to meeting amazing people, eating strange new foods, learning about the challenges that face the women I will be privileged to meet, and the adventure I am sure to have.

How exciting that a major part of this adventure will be a trek to the summit of Mount Kanlaon.  I know that this is going to be a huge challenge but the rewards of this experience will leave me with memories of a lifetime.
